They combine AI-driven discovery with proprietary bioprocessing to develop clinically proven active ingredients that outperform conventionally sourced alternatives, controlling the full value chain from molecule to market.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive Debut’s East Coast formulation sales strategy to achieve revenue targets across prestige, masstige, and indie beauty segments.
  • Leverage an existing network of decision-maker relationships at major beauty brands to secure formulation briefs.
  • Lead the full formulation sales cycle from initial engagement through briefing, proposal, sampling, and production.
  • Develop tailored product proposals by understanding brand NPD roadmaps and franchise architecture.
  • Represent Debut at industry trade shows, brand summits, and innovation strategy sessions.
  • Maintain a rigorous sales pipeline in CRM to provide visibility into revenue forecasts and market intelligence.
  • Serve as a trusted commercial partner to brand customers throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in sales or beauty product development within contract manufacturing or ingredient sales.
  • Proven track record of selling formulation or custom development services directly to beauty brands.
  • Established, active network of decision-maker relationships at major beauty brands.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong technical fluency to engage with R&D teams regarding formulation performance and ingredient claims.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms like Salesforce or Monday.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in cosmetic science, chemistry, or product development.
  • Experience working in or alongside an early-stage, high-growth company.
