About the role
Responsibilities
- Administer and coach the Speech & Debate Team to enhance its national and international reputation
- Teach Rhetoric and Communication Studies (RCS) classes every semester
- Promote forensics activities on campus
- Oversee the selection process for Performance Scholarships
- Manage the Speech and Debate Team Office
- Organize and accompany the team on regional, national, and international travel for competitions
Requirements
- Master's degree in Human Communication Studies, Speech Communication, or a related field
- Coaching experience with NFA, AFA, or WUCD sanctioned intervarsity competitions
- Applied knowledge of Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard, D2L, Canvas, Moodle)
- Strong pedagogical acumen in both virtual and face-to-face teaching environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate level teaching experience in the field of communication or rhetoric
