Director, Flight Dynamics, Guidance & Control

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of GNC engineers to meet project milestones
• Lead the design, development, and integration of GNC systems
• Plan and manage GNC projects including schedule, budget, and resource allocation
• Lead troubleshooting efforts related to GNC systems
• Coordinate with departments, stakeholders, and external partners
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in GNC development
• Provide technical inputs for proposal efforts and support mission operations
• Prepare and present status reports to upper management
• Provide technical mentorship and peer reviews

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in an engineering field with a concentration in dynamics and control
• Minimum of 15 years of GNC technical experience in the space industry
• Minimum of 3 years of experience leading or managing engineers
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for GNC engineering and software development
• Strong understanding of orbital dynamics and classical mechanics
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Dynamics and controls
• Experience with spacecraft flexible body control, Kalman Filtering, and jitter analysis
• Experience with rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking (RPOD)
• Knowledge of flight dynamics, Monte Carlo, and orbit determination for GEO and deep space
• Experience with satellite autonomy, constellation management, and collision avoidance
• Proficiency in C++ and Python
