Director, Financial Crime Operations

Responsibilities

• Lead the first-line Financial Crime function, including Transaction Monitoring and EDD & Investigations
• Build a scalable operating model for financial crime detection, investigation, and escalation
• Oversee the Transaction Monitoring team and partner with Product and Data on rule development
• Manage the EDD & Investigations team to ensure high-quality customer risk analysis and documentation
• Partner with Product and Engineering to embed financial crime controls into platform workflows
• Lead, coach, and develop managers and analysts across the function
• Develop reporting for senior leadership on financial crime trends and operational health

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in financial crime, AML operations, transaction monitoring, or investigations
• Experience leading teams in fintech, payments, banking, or regulated financial services
• Strong understanding of AML, financial crime typologies, and customer risk
• Proven operational leadership skills including workflow design and metrics management
• Ability to partner effectively with Compliance and technical teams
• Strong analytical judgment and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with case management systems and KYC/KYB vendors
• CAMS or CFE credentials
