Director, Engineering (Glass Substrate Engineering)

Responsibilities

• Lead a technical team to drive glass substrate engineering and manufacturing readiness
• Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and technicians
• Act as a subject matter expert in process fundamentals and equipment design
• Lead process scale-up from R&D to high-volume production
• Manage machine installation, qualification, and ramp-up timelines
• Drive structured root cause analysis and corrective actions for process issues
• Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve yield and reduce cost
• Collaborate with suppliers, equipment vendors, and R&D teams
• Ensure strong SOPs, safety protocols, and process control systems are followed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 8–12+ years of experience in engineering or manufacturing
• Proven experience leading technical teams and process scale-up
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven process control
