Director, Engineering (Commercial Lending)

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a high-performing team of Software Engineers, Technical Leads, and Engineering Managers.
• Define and execute the engineering strategy for Core Banking and Lending platforms, aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Own the technology roadmap and budget for the domain, ensuring delivery of high-impact functionality and operational resilience.
• Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Ensure adherence to agile delivery practices, DevOps principles, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Risk, Collections, Fraud, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity to mitigate technology risks.
• Establish and monitor KPIs and SLAs for system performance, availability, and incident response.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of Commercial Lending processes and expertise with LoanIQ.
• Strong experience with all facets of the SDLC, including code management, environment management, DevOps, and Automated QA.
• Proven experience designing and migrating applications to GCP or Azure.
• Expert knowledge of software development and design principles for highly scalable, enterprise-level technology stacks.
• Background in commercial banking, lending services, or financial services technology.
• Strong leadership, relationship building, and communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to various audiences.
