Director, Dental Informatics & Analytics

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the School of Dentistry’s informatics function
• Lead and develop a team of 4–8 informatics professionals
• Translate school strategy into informatics roadmaps, OKRs, and execution plans
• Implement AI and automation to improve service intake, triage, and knowledge management
• Oversee functional aspects of dental platforms including axiUm, MiPACS, and Dolphin
• Advance analytics capabilities by delivering dashboards and KPIs for clinical and academic use
• Partner with central IT on infrastructure, security, integrations, and cybersecurity
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and research data standards

Requirements

• 6 years of total professional experience
• 5 years of experience in Informatics, IT, or Analytics roles
• 3 years of experience directly supervising professional staff
• Demonstrated experience leveraging AI or automation to improve operations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in dental, medical, or academic healthcare settings
• Familiarity with axiUm, MiPACS, Dolphin, or similar dental systems
• Experience applying AI in clinical, educational, or research use cases
• Strong background in Business Intelligence (BI) and process maturity
