About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for the day-to-day administration of registered plans.
  • Oversee the operational management and regulatory compliance of RRSPs, RRIFs, TFSAs, RESPs, RDSPs, and FHSAs.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on the Income Tax Act, CRA guidelines, and relevant federal/provincial legislation.
  • Act as the primary relationship management contact for investment dealers within the Dealer Services business line.
  • Drive process efficiencies and system enhancements to improve the accuracy and timeliness of registered plan and cash custody administration.
  • Oversee monthly financial reporting, including interest payments, client statements, and monthly billing.
  • Develop and maintain robust departmental policies, procedures, and controls to ensure full regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience within the Financial Services industry.
  • 5+ years in a people leadership role.
  • Expert knowledge of retirement products, including RRSPs, TFSAs, RRIFs, and RESPs.
  • Expert level knowledge of locked-in registered plans across all jurisdictions, including unlocking requirements.
  • Strong understanding of interest rates and interest calculations.
  • Proficiency in Google Enterprise products, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to research and develop complex written communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or similar professional designations.
  • Background in a legal environment with an aptitude for interpreting contracts and legislation.
  • Experience managing strategic corporate or institutional clients.
  • Knowledge of estate and trust administration.
  • Bilingualism in French and English.
