Director, DCL Security

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the Disney Cruise Line security program for ships, terminals, and island resorts, acting as the Company Security Officer.
• Develop and execute strategic security goals and business plans aligned with broader Disney Experiences segment strategies.
• Oversee criminal, injury, and policy violation investigations, coordinating closely with Legal and Human Resources.
• Ensure compliance with ISPS and other applicable standards through documented security assessments, audits, and drills.
• Partner with the Technical Department to verify the operational readiness of ship and port security systems and equipment.
• Coordinate company-wide emergency preparedness exercises, including drills and audits across all ports and ships in the fleet.
• Manage annual budgets, training programs, and staffing requirements to optimize resources and maintain high safety standards.
• Provide strategic leadership and coaching to senior managers and managers across multiple specialties and locations.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of relevant security experience, with at least 5 years in management roles of increasing responsibility.
• Proven expertise in technical security, including risk assessment and the delivery of physical and operational security services.
• Experience working in domestic and international environments or partnering with international stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including briefing executive leadership on security risks.
• Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop strategies for complex travel and resort environments.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Significant experience in high-level law enforcement or corporate security overseeing complex international investigations.
• Background in maritime industry security, including cruise or port security operations.
• Experience in crisis management, intelligence analysis, or insider threat mitigation.
• Advanced degree in International Studies, Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
