Director, Data Science - Risk Adjustment

Responsibilities

• Translate company goals into actionable roadmaps, plans, and tactics for the risk adjustment area
• Lead and manage medium-sized teams of data scientists and analysts, including direct reports who are managers
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Clinical, Finance, and Actuarial organizations to build scalable analytical systems
• Lead teams in researching, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, statistical/ML models, and advanced analyses
• Drive delivery of solutions through organizational design, systems design, and mentorship
• Act as a strategic advocate for the data science team, communicating contributions and needs to senior leadership

Requirements

• 10+ years of quantitative technical experience in industry or academia
• 7+ years of experience using SQL, R, and/or Python for data manipulation and analysis
• 7+ years of experience in data modeling, statistical modeling, and advanced analytics
• 5+ years of experience working with healthcare data (risk adjustment or actuarial experience preferred)
• 5+ years of experience managing interactions with complex, cross-functional stakeholders
• 3+ years of experience with LLMs, entity recognition, and extraction techniques
• 3+ years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative or technical field
• Experience working within the finance or insurance industries
