Director, Data Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead high-performing data engineering squads and foster team growth
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across sources
• Collaborate with data scientists and business teams to improve data models
• Implement best practices for performance tuning, monitoring, and documentation
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies to improve capabilities
• Contribute to strategic planning and execution of data initiatives
• Support the Sr. Director of Data Engineering in executing the data roadmap

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
• Expertise in SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, BigQuery, etc.)
• Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka
• Background in building data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time pipelines
• Experience with media-specific data platforms and digital media analytics
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker
• Experience with machine learning and data science workflows
• Exposure to agile development and project management tools like Jira
