Director, Data Engineering

Responsibilities

• Build measurement frameworks to evaluate the ROI and impact of AI initiatives across the enterprise
• Design and scale data pipelines and instrumentation to capture agent telemetry and usage signals
• Create dashboards, semantic models, and self-serve layers for company-wide stakeholders
• Rapidly instrument and communicate metrics to validate or invalidate AI-driven productivity claims
• Shape the long-term strategy for how AI-augmented workforces are measured in terms of quality and efficiency
• Drive cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Security, and various business functions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven 0→1 builder experience, specifically creating measurement systems from scratch in ambiguous environments
• Demonstrated status as an AI power user in daily workflows
• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to present actionable insights to leadership
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment without direct authority
• Ability to move with both speed and technical rigor

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable efficiency gains
• Familiarity with LLMs, agentic systems, or emerging AI tooling
• Experience with productivity/efficiency measurement or enterprise-scale internal products
• Knowledge of responsible and ethical AI practices, including bias mitigation and risk assessment
• Prior experience in a founding or early-stage team member role
