Director, Customer Program Management, Physical Sciences

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact and trusted operational interface for physical sciences customers
• Manage end-to-end delivery across multiple concurrent projects, including timelines, resourcing, and risk management
• Translate complex internal program status into clear communication for customers
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including AI/ML researchers, experimentalists, and hardware engineers
• Build scalable delivery infrastructure, including processes, templates, and tooling
• Identify and shape opportunities for customer engagement growth and renewal

Requirements

• Graduate degree (MS, PhD, or equivalent) in a physical science or technical discipline (e.g., materials science, chemistry, physics, or engineering)
• 8+ years of experience in a technical or scientific industry
• 5+ years in program management, delivery, or cross-functional coordination
• Proven experience as the primary customer-facing owner of a relationship
• Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across multidisciplinary teams
• Strong ability to thrive in ambiguous, high-growth environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI-native or platform-based science/technology companies
• Deep familiarity with R&D workflows in materials, formulations, energy, or semiconductors
• Experience managing external collaborations in a discovery or R&D setting
• Familiarity with project management tools and methods like critical path analysis
• Knowledge of LLMs and the impact of AI on technical delivery
