About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end optimization, governance, and oversight of retail credit strategies to balance profitable growth and regulatory compliance.
- Own the enterprise credit-strategy framework to optimize risk-reward, capital efficiency, and portfolio quality.
- Act as a senior SME guiding champion/challenger design across approvals, line strategies, pricing, and authorization rules.
- Embed a disciplined effective-challenge function across the full strategy lifecycle, ensuring integrity in data quality, model use, and documentation.
- Convert analytical insights into scalable production strategies using bureau, behavioral, and alternative data.
- Define and enforce strategy guardrails and governance routines aligned with enterprise risk appetite and OSFI expectations.
- Build and lead a high-performing credit-strategy oversight and analytics team.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in financial services, fintech, or consulting with leadership in credit strategy or portfolio analytics.
- Graduate degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Operations Research.
- Hands-on experience designing and scaling credit strategies across the consumer credit lifecycle.
- Technical proficiency in Python, SQL, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Strong understanding of Canadian regulatory expectations and retail banking products.
- Experience with experimentation platforms, champion/challenger testing, and decision engines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with adaptive-control tools such as TRIAD or DMP.
- Knowledge of fair-lending/adverse-impact analysis and model monitoring.
- Familiarity with ML ops, feature store concepts, and consumer-credit pricing science.
