Director, Credit Risk Scorecards Model Risk & Governance

Responsibilities

• Lead a Hyderabad-based team of analysts and testing specialists in the update, monitoring, and governance of PD/LGD credit risk scorecards.
• Own ongoing model performance monitoring, including back-testing, stability tracking, benchmarking, and stress testing.
• Manage the end-to-end model change process, ensuring all impact assessments, documentation, and approvals are audit-ready.
• Oversee data integrity and quality controls for model inputs and monitoring datasets, ensuring clear lineage and traceability.
• Partner with model development, product, and technology teams to ensure controlled implementation of system updates.
• Coordinate responses to client queries and third-party assessments regarding model performance and monitoring.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Finance, or Data Science).
• 15+ years of experience in credit risk modelling and/or model risk management.
• Proven experience in people leadership and managing analytical teams.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks including Basel/IRB, IFRS 9, and CECL.
• Strong understanding of model governance, effective challenge, and change control processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with internal rating systems used for capital and impairment calculations in regulated institutions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional delivery with technology and product stakeholders.
• Strong executive-level communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
