About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of Counseling Services for the College.
- Deliver counseling to students addressing personal, emotional, academic, or behavioral concerns.
- Conduct crisis intervention, risk assessments, and safety planning for students in need.
- Complete triage reports and coordinate referrals to appropriate outside mental health agencies.
- Serve as a key member of the Behavior Intervention Team (BIT), CARE Team, and Sexual Violence Prevention Team.
- Develop and facilitate workshops and training for faculty, staff, and students regarding trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, and sexual assault prevention.
- Act as a resource to faculty and staff regarding mental health and wellness issues impacting student behavior.
- Assess the success and outcomes of counseling services provided to the campus community.
Requirements
- Master's degree or a specialized certification program (minimum one year of coursework beyond a Bachelor's degree).
- Current State of Ohio licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and/or a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW).
- 2 to 5 years of related experience in mental health counseling or working with at-risk populations.
- Valid driver's license and dependable transportation for travel between campus locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working specifically within a higher education environment.
- Specialized experience in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care.
