Director Cost Management

Responsibilities

• Provide estimate and cost planning including producing and presenting the final estimate
• Compile feasibility studies and prepare procurement reports
• Perform all aspects of procurement including tender analysis and compiling contractual documents
• Manage post contract cost variances and change control processes
• Manage cost checks and valuation deliverables on large projects
• Produce and present monthly cost reports to clients
• Lead value engineering initiatives and negotiate final accounts
• Provide leadership to cost management teams and ensure service delivery
• Identify new business opportunities and implement process improvements

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost management
• Experience leading cost management for large, complex construction projects
• Knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and life cycle costing
• People management experience within a project delivery context
• Technical expertise in pre-contract, post-contract, and final account areas
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, structural, and architectural construction aspects
• Fluency in English and German
• Proficiency in MS Office and modern cost management digital tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the German construction industry with knowledge of contractual documentation
• RICS accreditation
