Director, Construction API

Responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership and owner’s oversight for all construction activities associated with a ~$500 million pharmaceutical capital project
• Lead the owner’s construction management organization, including construction managers, field engineers, and site supervision
• Provide governance and oversight of EPC/CM contractors and trade contractors to ensure alignment with project objectives
• Establish construction execution strategies, site procedures, and performance expectations
• Champion a Zero Incident safety culture and ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations and corporate safety management systems
• Oversee the integrated master project schedule, monitoring progress, productivity, and critical path activities
• Maintain oversight of construction budgets, commitments, and cost forecasts with accurate financial reporting
• Lead the construction change management process and negotiate commercial impacts of contractor claims
• Ensure construction execution meets project specifications, corporate engineering standards, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate closely with Quality Assurance, CQV, and validation teams to support regulatory readiness and facility start-up

Requirements

• BS in Engineering or an equivalent technical degree
• 20+ years of experience as a construction leader
• Proven leadership experience in the construction management of mega-capital projects ($500MM+)
• Demonstrated experience managing Engineering, EPC/EPCM contractors, and global equipment vendors
• Ability to travel within the US and internationally for vendor reviews and workshops

• Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
• Proven ability to mentor and develop the next generation of leaders
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in risk-based decision making
