About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead national and local communications strategies for touring artists to drive impactful press campaigns throughout the tour lifecycle.
- Develop and execute communications plans that elevate artist visibility and support broader business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with national, regional, trade, and emerging media outlets, including digital and podcast platforms.
- Create and distribute press materials such as releases, pitches, executive messaging, and artist interview materials.
- Pitch and manage high-profile media opportunities, including feature stories, broadcast appearances, and experiential activations.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders, artists, managers, and promoters on media positioning and narrative development.
- Manage incoming media inquiries and sensitive crisis communications matters to ensure brand-aligned responses.
- Leverage social-first content, influencer engagement, and emerging platforms to amplify campaigns and audience engagement.
- Partner cross-functionally with marketing, social, digital, and artist relations teams to maximize campaign impact.
- Manage and mentor junior communications team members to foster professional development and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- 8+ years of experience in communications and PR.
- Proven track record of communicating, pitching, and securing national media coverage.
- Strong existing relationships within the Music & Entertainment Industry.
- Excellent oral and written communication, writing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Drive (Docs, Slides, Sheets).
- Strong understanding of the social media, social editorial, and influencer landscape.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel as needed.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask several projects under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience using industry tools such as Trendkite, Muckrack, or Critical Mention.
