About the Company

Stylus Medicine is developing transformative in vivo genetic medicines to unlock cures. The company combines engineered recombinases with non-viral delivery to specifically encode therapeutics across oncology, autoimmune, and genetic diseases.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of NGS and computational biology scientists
• Lead computational efforts to design and optimize LSRs and related genome engineering proteins
• Lead analysis of NGS data including amplicon sequencing, WGS, hybrid capture, and long-read sequencing
• Build and evaluate predictive and generative models for protein variant and library design
• Integrate proprietary screening data with public evolutionary and structural datasets
• Oversee the design and deployment of scalable computational pipelines for multi-omics data analysis
• Provide scientific input into platform strategy and partner with Screening and Genome Engineering teams
• Contribute to patent filings, regulatory submissions, and publications

Requirements

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Protein Engineering, Machine Learning or related field with 10+ years experience, or Master's with 14+ years experience
• Demonstrated research in protein modeling, protein design, or computational biology
• Hands-on experience applying AI/ML methods to protein design (e.g., AlphaFold, RFdiffusion, ProteinMPNN, ESM)
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and/or R
• Deep familiarity with data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Bioconductor, SciPy, PyTorch, or JAX
• Experience with cloud computing platforms and workflow management systems
