Director - Compliance Audit

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of compliance audits, including financial statements, accounting practices, and IT systems.
• Identify operational risks through comprehensive risk assessments to support the Internal Audit Plan.
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls in mitigating risks and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate key findings and strategic recommendations to senior managers, directors, and audit owners.
• Act as the Key Risk Owner for Compliance Risk, specifically focusing on Wholesale Conduct and Regulatory Compliance.
• Oversee audits of processes operated by the Compliance function, including regular coverage of markets surveillance.
• Monitor regulatory news and industry trends to provide timely insights and best practice recommendations.
• Manage and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in audit development and delivery within a financial services environment.
• Deep expertise in Wholesale Conduct and Regulatory Compliance risks.
• Proven ability to conduct complex risk assessments and internal control evaluations.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
• Experience with markets surveillance oversight and compliance function auditing.
• Advanced analytical and interpretative thinking skills to solve complex problems.
