Director, Commercial Operations

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end commercial fleet performance including safety, reliability, and utilization metrics
• Establish and drive KPIs such as fleet availability, autonomous miles, and SLA adherence
• Lead and standardize operations across multiple geographies and market launches
• Provide executive oversight of real-time fleet command, control, and incident response
• Serve as the senior operational liaison across Engineering, Safety, Product, and Commercial teams
• Oversee field support strategy, including third-party vendors and dispatch operations
• Identify and scale operational tools, automation, and technologies to improve performance
• Manage operational budgets with a focus on cost efficiency and scalability
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements
• Build and develop high-performing operations teams and leadership structures

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Marketing, Business, Engineering, or Logistics
• 10+ years of experience in operations leadership within mission-critical environments
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director and above) managing multi-site operations
• Experience managing third-party vendors and performance-based commercial contracts
• Proven track record of improving complex operational systems at scale
• Expertise in incident management and operational risk mitigation
• Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
• Ability to support a 24/7 operational model including on-call escalation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in autonomous vehicles, driverless systems, or mobility platforms
• Background in air traffic control, military command-and-control, or emergency management
• Familiarity with ODD frameworks and geospatial operations
• Experience with fleet management platforms and telematics
• Success in launching new markets in regulated environments
