Director, Clinical Pathology

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Pathology team to ensure high-quality, timely processing of clinical laboratory pathology reads
• Act as a surgical pathology expert, bridging pre-analytic surgical pathology and post-analytic molecular testing results
• Perform expert microscopic review of clinical laboratory H&E and IHC slides
• Oversee the testing and integration of new technologies, including digital pathology systems and artificial intelligence
• Partner with the Laboratory Director to optimize sample management and molecular output quality
• Lead pathology training, including onboarding, ongoing education, and competency assessments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch new products, develop global pathology support, and support post-market studies
• Manage pathology operations, including budgeting, cost analysis, and project management

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Board certification in both Anatomical and Clinical Pathology
• 10+ years of experience in Diagnostic Anatomic Pathology
• Demonstrated diagnostic skills in Surgical Pathology
• Proven experience leading teams, projects, or committees
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Arizona Medical License
• Completion of a Molecular Pathology Fellowship or 5+ years of experience in molecular pathology testing
