Director, Catering and Conference Services

Responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of all catering and conference services, ensuring a seamless transition from booking to event completion.
• Supervise, train, and motivate a diverse team of full-time, part-time, and student employees.
• Manage departmental revenue and expenses, including budget forecasting and developing growth strategies.
• Coordinate with university departments and external vendors to manage facility usage, inventory, and service agreements.
• Oversee marketing and sales initiatives, including social media, website management, and print media.
• Manage facility maintenance and equipment inventories for the John C. Myers Convocation Center and other event spaces.
• Handle administrative tasks such as payroll approval, scheduling, invoicing, and contract management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Proven experience in catering, conference services, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse constituent groups.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServSafe certification.
