Director, Business Development & Partnerships, Minecraft

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic negotiations and partner relationships for franchise-defining deals, including economics, rights, and exclusivity.
• Manage and develop a team of Business Development Managers, overseeing their category ownership and partner portfolios.
• Set deal strategy and translate franchise priorities into a multi-year roadmap in collaboration with Brand, Product, and Marketing.
• Own the end-to-end deal process, including pipeline management, approval governance, and post-signature handoff.
• Balance commercial ambition with brand stewardship, player trust, and franchise integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Liberal Arts, Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in fields such as business development, corporate strategy, finance, or legal.
• 3+ years of experience in people management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the gaming industry with a publisher, platform, or developer.
• Proven track record of structuring and executing complex commercial agreements and IP licensing.
• Experience managing strategic partnership portfolios and driving measurable commercial outcomes.
• Ability to influence senior executives within a highly matrixed organization.
• Expertise in brand partnerships, content collaborations, and commercialization strategies.
