Director, Business Development & Partnership

Responsibilities

• Partner with Flagship’s Corporate and Business Development teams to define and execute partnership strategies aligned with global objectives.
• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, potential partners, and market trends within the Korean life sciences sector.
• Establish and nurture strategic alliances with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and research institutions in Korea.
• Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements to drive mutual growth and innovation.
• Develop strategies to expand Flagship Pioneering’s presence and influence in the Korean market.
• Collaborate with APAC and global leadership teams to align efforts and support portfolio company growth.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business development activities and track KPIs.

Requirements

• 8-10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or related roles within the life sciences sector.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and managing strategic partnerships in South Korea.
• Deep understanding of the Korean healthcare and regulatory environment.
• Fluency in both Korean and English (written and spoken).
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and drive long-term business growth.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MBA, Ph.D., or equivalent) with an emphasis on business or life sciences.
