Director, Assistant Controller

About the Company

Metropolis is creating the artificial intelligence to make the real world responsive. They are pioneering the Recognition Economy, transforming parking into a seamless experience and expanding their intelligence layer across retail and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly and quarterly close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and scalability
• Design and implement new policies, controls, and workflows including GAAP/IFRS, revenue recognition, and consolidations
• Drive automation and AI adoption in reconciliations, reporting, and consolidation
• Build and mentor a growing accounting team, instilling accountability and high performance
• Work closely with cross-functional leads in Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Operations to ensure data integrity

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA license
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience including team leadership
• Strong technical accounting knowledge in GAAP/IFRS and consolidation experience
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements and leveraging technology/automation
• Hands-on leadership experience building close-to-reporting processes in complex environments
• Ability to work with ambiguity and build from the ground up
• Experience leveraging AI tools to transform static workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
