Director, Antibody Discovery

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the antibody discovery strategy and deliver therapeutic antibody projects
• Translate somatic genomics screening outputs into drug discovery programs
• Drive decision-making on construct design, format, and developability according to Target Product Profile specifications
• Perform lead sequence and format optimizations using rational, structure-based, and in silico/AI/ML design approaches
• Lead cross-functional matrix teams through key inflection points, including development candidate nomination and IND submission
• Identify and manage external CROs, vendors, and academic collaborators to support a state-of-the-art discovery platform
• Provide expert advice on the feasibility of antibody tractable targets and high-value drug molecules

Requirements

• Proven experience advancing protein therapeutics through drug discovery phases to development
• Expertise in structure-based protein engineering and design of antibodies (e.g., multispecifics, Fc engineering, fusion proteins)
• Proficiency in antibody engineering using in silico, structure-based, and AI/ML approaches
• Experience with display technologies, humanization techniques, and sequence liability remediation
• Strong project leadership experience in a pharmaceutical R&D environment
• Track record of managing lead identification and optimization through preclinical development

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in early-stage or start-up biotech environments
• Experience working with genetic and genomics platform-driven drug target discovery
• Broader understanding of protein sciences, including expression, developability, and analytical purification
• Experience managing the design and validation of cellular assays for functional characterization of biologics
