Director Analytical Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of analytical chemists responsible for the progression of analytical methodology throughout all stages of development
• Coach and develop early and mid-career scientists to drive technical mastery and meaningful growth
• Partner with Chemical Research and Development to define and drive control strategies for new medicines
• Oversee project management of analytical activities and associated CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) strategies
• Drive decision-making processes within a multidisciplinary matrix organization
• Ensure robust, fit-for-purpose analytical deliverables that meet project timelines and budget requirements
• Contribute to departmental operational and strategic teams to enhance global analytical research and development

Requirements

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience
• OR a BS/MS in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with 25+ years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
• Extensive experience in small molecule drug substance and drug product development
• Proven track record of delivering and defending analytical control strategies for regulatory submissions
• Experience working successfully within cross-disciplinary project teams and matrix environments
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and lead scientific teams
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written
