About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of analytical chemists responsible for the progression of analytical methodology throughout all stages of development
- Coach and develop early and mid-career scientists to drive technical mastery and meaningful growth
- Partner with Chemical Research and Development to define and drive control strategies for new medicines
- Oversee project management of analytical activities and associated CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls) strategies
- Drive decision-making processes within a multidisciplinary matrix organization
- Ensure robust, fit-for-purpose analytical deliverables that meet project timelines and budget requirements
- Contribute to departmental operational and strategic teams to enhance global analytical research and development
Requirements
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience
- OR a BS/MS in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with 25+ years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
- Extensive experience in small molecule drug substance and drug product development
- Proven track record of delivering and defending analytical control strategies for regulatory submissions
- Experience working successfully within cross-disciplinary project teams and matrix environments
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and lead scientific teams
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written
