Director (AGC), Workforce Integrity & Marketplace Compliance

Responsibilities

• Advise on employment law matters including employee relations, performance management, and wage and hour
• Lead legal strategy for independent contractor classification and marketplace workforce models
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams on product development and operational initiatives
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on business impact
• Develop policies, trainings, and compliance controls
• Support investigations, audits, and regulatory inquiries

Requirements

• J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 10+ years of experience in employment law, labor issues, or marketplace counseling
• Deep expertise in independent contractor classification and marketplace workforce models
• Experience counseling product and business teams in startup or high-growth technology companies
• Strong understanding of traditional employment law and employee relations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting marketplace, gig economy, or platform businesses
• In-house experience at a technology or startup company
• Familiarity with global workforce compliance issues
• Experience building scalable compliance programs
