About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of engineering operations within the core engineering group
- Manage the integration of next generation sensor technologies, networking, power, and computing systems
- Lead partnerships with 3rd party engineering firms to define scope and monitor progress
- Lead vehicle engineering pertaining to embedded software
- Coordinate between product management, program management, autonomy, and production
- Oversee departmental KPIs, budgets, and people management
- Define long term technical roadmap and strategic vision
- Lead core value analysis and value engineering (VA/VE) activities
- Work with teams to develop autonomous driving system architecture meeting UL 4600 standards
Requirements
- BS in an Engineering discipline or related field
- 10+ years of relevant work experience leading engineering functions
- Proven people management experience including hiring, coaching, and team building
- Experience setting technical vision for vehicle systems and autonomous driving subsystems
- Experience working with safety-critical products (automotive or aerospace preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- MS degree in Engineering or Business
- Startup experience
- Autonomous vehicle technology experience
- Experience developing advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)
- Experience driving continuous improvements for in-market vehicles
- Operations management experience
