Director, Accounting & Reporting

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all accounting and financial reporting activities across the APAC and China regions
• Ensure consistent application of IFRS and the Alcon Manual of Accounting
• Lead regional ownership of financial statements, balance sheet integrity, and reporting quality
• Oversee statutory reporting and audits for all legal entities, ensuring timely completion and high audit quality
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate financial reporting and compliance risks
• Act as a trusted advisor to regional leadership, providing insights on financial and accounting implications
• Lead and develop multi-country FRA teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning
• Drive change management initiatives related to systems, processes, and organizational transformation

Requirements

• Chartered Accountant or CPA is required
• 15+ years of subject matter expertise in accounting, finance, internal controls, or accounting advisory roles
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and related accounting guidance
• Proficiency in SAP and other ERP systems
• Experience working effectively in a multinational, matrix organization
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Big 4 audit firm in Audit or Technical Accounting
• Fluency in English, with proficiency in Mandarin or Japanese being a plus
