About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, stable, and nurturing residential environment for female youth in crisis.
  • Support residents' emotional, psychological, and physical needs through individual counseling and crisis intervention.
  • Implement case plans and follow through with required programming for each youth.
  • Maintain accurate, objective documentation and logs regarding resident behaviors, activities, and concerns.
  • Prepare meals and snacks while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety in the home.
  • Ensure the safety of all residents and property by following program policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and external agencies such as the Ministry of Social Services.
  • Perform shift exchanges to ensure the seamless transfer of critical information to the next team.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Social Science, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a related field.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
  • TCI Training.
  • Food Safe Certificate.
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts (specifically Saturday and Sunday 12 AM - 8 AM).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within the field of Mental Health and Addictions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Behaviour Based Model.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
