About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide meaningful and functional activity-based programming as mapped out via individual support plans
- Ensure a safe, organized, and clean living and learning environment
- Collaborate with Lead Direct Support Specialists to address health and welfare concerns
- Complete required documentation for program plans, reportable events, and incidents
- Manage necessary resources including food, water, and medications
- Supervise community outings and provide behavioral support
- Organize and provide transportation to medical appointments and wellness checks
- Serve as a frontline teacher in skill acquisition
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to assist with lifting, mobility device transfers, bathing, and diaper changes
- Reliable transportation for community outings and errands
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous caregiving experience
- Previous housekeeping or customer service experience
