Responsibilities

• Assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with daily living activities to increase independence
• Follow Individual Support Plans (ISP) and protocols to ensure safety and quality of care
• Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MARs)
• Prepare nutritionally balanced meals and maintain household cleanliness
• Document progress notes, event reports, and medication administration accurately
• Support individuals in developing positive community relationships and social skills
• Safeguard supported individuals' funds and maintain accurate financial ledgers
• Navigate escalated situations or emergencies while maintaining safety

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Ability to pass a criminal history check via the Department of Human Services
• Valid driver's license, insurance, and a good driving record
• Ability to lift up to 110 lbs and assist with transfers up to 250 lbs
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Commitment to working a minimum of 20 hours per month to remain active on the substitute list

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Human Development, Psychology, or a related field
• 1 year of experience as a care provider or in a related role
• Experience supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
