Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Caregiver

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities
• Empower individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining dignity and respect
• Offer hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance
• Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served
• Assist with daily living tasks including mobility, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene
• Perform necessary housekeeping and laundry duties
• Document care and follow support plans using computer systems

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Strong communication skills (reading, writing, and verbal)
• Basic computer skills for documentation purposes
• Ability to pass a successful background clearance
• Dependable, adaptable, and detail-oriented personality

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
• Prior experience in mental health, psychiatric, or security settings
• Experience managing intense verbal or physical behaviors
