Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Caregiver

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support the lives of residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Provide companionship and personalized care to encourage independence and self-care
• Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating
• Prepare meals and snacks and perform light housekeeping and laundry duties
• Provide mobility and transfer assistance, including the use of mechanical lift devices
• Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when necessary
• Document care and collaborate with internal and external team members

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD)
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to provide professional references
• Availability to attend two weeks of paid in-house orientation and training
• Strong communication skills for documentation and team collaboration
