Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Caregiver

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support, hands-on instruction, and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Enrich and support the lives of residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating
• Prepare meals and snacks and perform light housekeeping and laundry duties
• Provide mobility and transfer assistance, including the use of mechanical lift devices
• Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when necessary

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to attend two weeks of paid in-house orientation and training
• Strong communication skills for documenting care and collaborating with team members
• Dependable, adaptable, and flexible nature

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
