About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct daily care, supervision, and trauma-informed support for residents to ensure their health, safety, and well-being.
- Serve as a positive role model, offering guidance and supportive learning experiences to help residents build strengths and foster hope.
- Implement therapeutic discipline and manage resident activities in accordance with campus procedures and regulations.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and documentation regarding resident care and medication administration.
- Prepare nutritious meals, maintain home cleanliness, and oversee facility upkeep.
- Provide crisis intervention using approved verbal and physical techniques to manage challenging behaviors.
- Support residents' academic, extracurricular, and spiritual development, including participation in campus Chapel programs.
- Coordinate with the treatment team to support individualized goals and assist with family reunification efforts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
- Two years of direct care experience in residential programs, juvenile justice, or behavioral treatment centers.
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.
- Physical ability to perform crisis intervention, including bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing or walking.
- Understanding of children, youth, and families in crisis.
- Strong communication, time management, and detail-orientation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency with computer systems and general office equipment.
