Direct Support Professional

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care and 1:1 support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs
• Support residents' emotional needs by recognizing signs of distress and using approved de-escalation techniques
• Maintain a calm, respectful, and supportive environment to encourage personal growth and community involvement
• Document medical concerns and daily progress clearly in electronic health record systems
• Facilitate community engagement and outside activities for residents
• Perform household duties including meal planning, preparation, cleaning, and shopping
• Work with residents on Individual Service Plan (ISP) outcomes and stay current on all updates

Requirements

• Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable access to a personal vehicle
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to obtain Medication Administration and CPR certification within 6 months of hire
• One year of direct care experience in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
• Ability to remain calm and professional during emotional or crisis situations
• Flexibility to work a PRN schedule with a minimum of 6 hours worked per month
