About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide creative support and community engagement for adults with developmental disabilities and autism
- Assist individuals in their homes or natural family homes to maintain independence
- Implement approved interventions and safe crisis management techniques as outlined in individual plans of care
- Provide emotional support and positive reinforcement to individuals served
- Maintain accurate and appropriate case notes
- Participate in ongoing supervision, training, and professional development
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle during work hours
- Minimum of two years of U.S. driver's license history
- Ability to provide personal care and assist with daily living skills
- Ability to pass required background checks, physical examinations, and clearances
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with families and case managers
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of direct care experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
