Direct Support Professional

Responsibilities

• Provide creative support and community engagement for adults with developmental disabilities and autism
• Assist individuals in their homes or natural family homes to maintain independence
• Implement approved interventions and safe crisis management techniques as outlined in individual plans of care
• Provide emotional support and positive reinforcement to individuals served
• Maintain accurate and appropriate case notes
• Participate in ongoing supervision, training, and professional development

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle during work hours
• Minimum of two years of U.S. driver's license history
• Ability to provide personal care and assist with daily living skills
• Ability to pass required background checks, physical examinations, and clearances
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with families and case managers

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of direct care experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
