About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent support to individuals in the vocational day program, assisting with daily routines, personal care, and meals
  • Support the development of soft skills and job skills to help attendees move toward competitive employment
  • Follow individualized support, behavioral, and health plans to ensure safety and wellbeing
  • Encourage independence and participation in meaningful activities such as recreation, volunteering, and community engagement
  • Assist with transportation to and from programs and community activities
  • Document and communicate important information regarding progress, behaviors, or incidents accurately
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and supportive environment that promotes dignity and personal choice

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid US driver’s license held for at least two years (excluding permit time)
  • Access to a reliable vehicle with valid registration, inspection, and auto insurance
  • Ability to lift, transfer, push, or pull individuals and objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to pass background checks and physical examinations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of direct care experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
