Direct Support Professional

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care to residents, including grooming, healthcare, and dietary needs
• Support residents with Individual Service Plan (ISP) outcomes to foster independence
• Promote community engagement and outside activities for residents
• Perform household duties such as meal planning, preparation, cleaning, laundry, and shopping
• Document medical concerns and daily progress clearly in writing
• Ensure the safety and well-being of residents in both home and community settings

Requirements

• Valid US driver's license held for at least two years
• Access to a reliable vehicle with valid registration and insurance
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting/assisting individuals
• Ability to pass background checks, physical examinations, and driving clearances
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals with special needs

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of direct care experience in the field of intellectual or developmental disabilities
• Experience with behavior management and program planning principles
