Direct Support Professional 1:1

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care and support, including assistance with dietary and health needs
• Support residents' emotional needs by recognizing signs of distress and using approved de-escalation techniques
• Promote a calm, respectful, and supportive environment to encourage personal growth
• Communicate clearly in writing regarding medical concerns and daily progress via electronic health records
• Facilitate community engagement and outside activities for residents
• Perform household duties including meal planning, preparation, cleaning, and shopping
• Work with residents on Individual Service Plan (ISP) outcomes and stay current on all updates

Requirements

• Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable access to a personal vehicle
• Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must obtain Medication Administration and CPR certification within 6 months of hire
• Ability to work a PRN schedule with a minimum of 6 hours worked per month
• Flexibility to cover shifts within a 24-hour operation on short notice

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of direct care experience in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities
• Experience supporting individuals with emotional or behavioral challenges
• Proficiency with workplace technologies including Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems
