Dining Services Leader

Responsibilities

• Supervise all phases of food preparation and service, including cooking, portioning, and merchandising.
• Train dining service personnel and assign work schedules to temporary staff.
• Manage dining hall operations, including ordering basic materials, receiving items, and overseeing storage.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and security within the food service unit.
• Oversee cash control procedures, meal counts, and production records.
• Assume full responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Dining Service Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Support a positive work environment through teamwork and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in food service production and/or supervision.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to coordinate the work of others.
• ServSafe certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first year.
• Ability to lift 10+ pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending.
• Ability to meet university requirements to be authorized to drive a university vehicle.
• Proficiency in operating food service equipment and POS systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree.
• Formal training in the food service field.
