About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food, including filling steam tables and maintaining service lines
- Retrieve food and supplies from kitchens, coolers, warmers, and dry stock areas
- Use commercial kitchen equipment such as steamers, fryers, pizza ovens, and turbo chefs
- Provide customer service by tending food stations and ensuring proper serving sizes
- Maintain sanitation standards by cleaning and storing dishes, trays, utensils, and cookware
- Perform dishwashing duties using three-compartment sinks or commercial dish machines
- Process orders accurately using the GET ordering system
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
- At least three months of experience in a food service position (cashier, light cooking, or prep)
- Ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 40 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for up to four hours at a time
- Effective English communication skills (reading, writing, and verbal)
- Ability to visually differentiate colors for food safety purposes
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months of experience in a food service preparation position
- Successful experience assisting customers
- Demonstrated professional demeanor
- Experience working with students and a diverse, multicultural staff and customer base
