Dining Hall Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of one or more food service facilities, including meal service, setup, and upkeep.
• Assign and train cooks, utility workers, and student employees to ensure efficient and courteous service.
• Oversee sanitation and cleaning of all service areas, food preparation equipment, kitchens, and storage areas in compliance with safety policies.
• Manage food handling, including leftover management and advanced preparation.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as cash handling, receipts, operating reports, and payroll.
• Monitor entrance and exit security activities within the dining facility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in food service management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience in food service.
• ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment).
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Computer literacy in industry-standard software.
• Ability to lift and carry food, equipment, and beverage items.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Four years of experience in food service.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role.
• Experience with food preparation in a high-volume dining facility.
