Dimensional Engineer

Responsibilities

• Ensure Body-in-White dimensional integrity and fit/finish quality for cab and box assemblies
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for dimensional issues
• Provide technical support to the production organization and coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering
• Implement engineering and product changes and monitor compliance to Process Control Plans
• Drive variation reductions utilizing Statistical Process Control methodology
• Design and build special application tools for production
• Organize and coordinate problem-solving activities related to quality issues
• Support continuous improvement workshops such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and CIP

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with Vision Systems
• Solid understanding of GD&T principles and vehicle body build processes
• Familiarity with CAD software and ability to interpret dimensional data
• Working knowledge of variation analysis tools and A, B, C metrics
• Ability to work different shifts on a rotational basis

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in Dimensional Engineering
• Experience in a lean GMS environment
• Experience in Maintenance or Engineering within a vehicle assembly manufacturing environment
