About the role
Responsibilities
- Execute clay or digital models by developing aesthetic surfaces that meet design and quality requirements.
- Translate 2D sketches and artistic direction into high-quality 3D mathematical models.
- Collaborate with design and engineering stakeholders to solve complex problems throughout the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP).
- Support surface releases that meet design approval, production engineering, and data release requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends in design, technology, production methods, and materials.
- Adhere to corporate data management processes and safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Industrial Design or a related field.
- Experience with digital sculpting and clay sculpting techniques.
- Proficiency in physical milling processes to develop surfaces.
- Understanding of production and manufacturing processes, including die pull direction, draft angle, and parting line location.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.
- Ability to interpret sketches and translate them into technical 3D models.
