Digital Product Director

Responsibilities

• Lead digital product engagements from brief through to market, owning quality, pace, and the client relationship
• Act as the main client point of contact on strategic accounts
• Direct multidisciplinary teams and coach/mentor designers and product leads
• Help clients navigate the shift from AI-bolted-on to AI-native systems
• Prototype and pressure-test concepts using live models
• Contribute to the AIx practice by developing tools and methods
• Scope and frame follow-on work and grow client relationships
• Represent IDEO externally through talks, writing, and thought leadership

Requirements

• Strong track record of leading and launching complex digital products at a senior or director level
• Experience shipping products where AI plays a meaningful, structural role
• Fluency in AI product design, including agentic systems and LLM-powered capabilities
• Proficiency in Figma and early-stage prototyping
• Strong people leadership and talent development skills
• Experience scoping work, writing proposals, and presenting to senior stakeholders
• Deep understanding of UX and interaction design fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience shipping AI-native products
• Familiarity with the EU AI Act or European AI regulatory landscape
• Sector experience in health, financial services, consumer tech, retail, or sustainability
• Experience building innovation practices within large organisations
• Fluency in a second European language
